Eleonora Privitera is an Italian filmmaker based in New York City.

She started making documentaries to support social movements and people’s struggles against oppression, specifically related to environmental justice and gender issues.

In her directorial debut, “Rebirth”, she turns the camera towards her family, embarking on a difficult emotional journey, combining the language of home movies,  intimate conversations, and video diaries.

In her most recent work, she developed an interdisciplinary approach, involving Poetry, and Body Movement to explore femininity, identity, and memory.

She is working on her next film: a cinematic exploration of her female ancestors, the inherited cycles of trauma, and the vastness of her multitudes.
